About Central Library

Birsha Munda Memorail College

College's library plays a crucial role in the academic and personal development of students, especially given the limited access to resources in the surrounding rural area. The library is not only a repository for textbooks and academic materials but also serves as a space for recreational reading and professional growth, our College Library running from 2010 onwards for the batter progression and academic development of the students .

Here's a summary of the key points that we shared:

  1. Access to Learning Resources: As a rural college with limited resources, the central library is vital for students who cannot afford textbooks and other academic materials. It helps bridge the gap for students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
  2. Curricular and Career-Oriented Support: The library provides textbooks and reference books related to the CBCS & NEP curriculum, crucial for students' academic success. Additionally, it subscribes to three monthly magazines, ensuring students stay updated with career-oriented knowledge.
  3. Facilities for Study: The library has a dedicated reading room with sufficient seating arrangements, catering to both group study sessions and personal reading, thus fostering a conducive environment for learning.
  4. Non-Academic Resources: The library also has a variety of story books, spiritual and religious texts, and other non-academic books that benefit both students and faculty members, promoting a holistic educational experience.
  5. Newspapers and Journals: To ensure students remain informed about current events, the library subscribes to local Bengali daily Ananda Bazar Patrika and the weekly newspaper Karmakhetra, making them a valuable resource for general knowledge and cultural enrichment.

This combination of academic, career, and leisure resources not only supports students' immediate educational needs but also encourages lifelong learning and community engagement.
